Field Operations Lead

JOB OVERVIEW
- JD Signs is seeking a Field Operations Lead to join our installation team. This working leadership role is responsible for completing commercial sign installations, service calls, and field surveys while supporting and mentoring Field Operations Technicians.
The ideal candidate has strong sign installation experience, enjoys hands-on problem-solving, and takes pride in representing a trusted local signage company. This position requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering professional service at every customer location.
The Field Operations Lead works closely with project managers, installation teams, and customers to ensure signage projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with the craftsmanship JD Signs is known for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform commercial sign installations, repairs, service work, and field surveys; lead installation crews by example and support technician development; interpret installation drawings, measurements, and project instructions; troubleshoot field issues and identify practical solutions; assist with challenging installations and service projects; train and mentor Field Operations Technicians; communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members; represent JD Signs positively at customer locations; operate company vehicles, lifts, and equipment safely; maintain organized and professional jobsites; complete installations according to quality standards and project schedules; follow company safety procedures and OSHA requirements; protect customer property and company equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of commercial sign installation or related field experience; strong knowledge of sign installation methods and equipment; ability to lead crews and work independently; valid driver's license; ability to read installation drawings and measurements; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work outdoors and at heights; commitment to safe work practices and quality craftsmanship.
NICE TO HAVE
- CDL license; bucket truck or aerial lift experience; crane certification; electrical troubleshooting experience; LED signage experience; OSHA certifications; previous experience with sign service and maintenance.
