Field Operations Technician
Morgantown, WV
JOB OVERVIEW
- City Neon is seeking a Field Operations Technician to join our growing field operations team. This position is responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial signage systems, LED displays, and other visual communication solutions for customers throughout the region.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, solving technical challenges, and taking pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship. This role requires strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a variety of environments including commercial job sites, outdoor locations, and elevated work areas.
Field Operations Technicians work closely with Field Operations Leads, Project Managers, and production teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to City Neon’s quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install commercial signage, LED displays, and related visual systems according to approved drawings and project requirements; perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities; conduct field surveys and document site conditions; interpret installation drawings, measurements, and project documentation; safely operate company vehicles, trailers, lifts, and field equipment; inspect and maintain tools and equipment; troubleshoot installation and service challenges; represent City Neon professionally at customer locations; communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and team members; maintain clean and organized jobsites; protect customer property and company assets; complete service documentation and project updates accurately; follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and proper PPE guidelines; continue developing technical skills across installation, service, and field operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one; valid driver's license; strong mechanical aptitude; ability to work safely at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions; ability to lift, carry, and handle materials; strong work ethic and reliability; commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service; ability to work effectively as part of a team.
NICE TO HAVE
- Commercial signage experience; LED display installation experience; CDL license; bucket truck or aerial lift experience; crane certification; electrical troubleshooting experience; OSHA certifications; construction or electrical background.
