Shop Support Technician
Morgantown, WV
JOB OVERVIEW
- City Neon is seeking a Shop Support Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment while supporting material handling, receiving, and daily shop operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and takes pride in supporting a team behind the scenes. This position plays an important role in keeping production departments running smoothly by managing incoming materials, maintaining shop organization, assisting with workflow needs, and ensuring teams have the resources they need to complete projects successfully.
The Shop Support Technician works closely with fabrication, production, project management, and operations teams to maintain a safe and productive workplace while supporting the creation of large-scale custom signage and visual solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout production areas including fabrication, paint, print, and shared workspaces; remove scrap materials, waste, and debris from production areas; maintain clear walkways, workstations, and safe working conditions; receive inbound deliveries and verify materials against packing slips and purchase documentation; inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies; communicate receiving issues and material concerns to management; organize, label, and distribute materials to appropriate departments; assist with loading and unloading deliveries and shipments; support inventory organization and material accountability; assist production teams with general shop support tasks; move materials and completed products between departments; maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and shop resources; follow company safety procedures and OSHA requirements; identify and report hazards or facility concerns; support a positive, organized, and efficient production environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to lift, carry, and move materials in a physically demanding environment; reliable attendance and strong work ethic; ability to follow procedures and work independently; effective communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with production teams; commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
NICE TO HAVE
- Manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience; experience receiving shipments and verifying materials; forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification; inventory management experience; commercial signage industry experience; familiarity with production environments.
